Screen cultures presents a program of short films, conversation, and Q&A with award-winning Irish artist Mairéad McClean.
Spanning over thirty years, McClean's career as a visual artist has covered film, photography, installation, and drawing. Her films address questions of memory, perception, and systems of control through intricate sound design and the incorporation of an impressive array of archival materials, challenging the borders between public and private archive. Her work has received international recognition, and sits in the collections of the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. She was awarded the MAC International Art Prize (2014 Belfast) and the Kinoskop 6 Experimental Film Festival Curator’s Award (2024).
Hosted by Screen Cultures.
Sponsored by Screen Cultures and the English Department, GMU.
